No To Hope Is New Hope

I use a lot of different IM services and lately I have been pinging the service I used at my old job.  Call it nostalgia.  But it’s also a good measure of what’s happening on the right (wing) side of the isle.  I often see signs in messages like “healthcare is not a right” or “Kerry lied” and other right wing talking points.

I logged in today and saw “Say No To Hope”.  I think that says it all.  Yes, Obama is a flawed person and that is going to shock some of his loyal devotees.  But the rejection of hope, even figuratively, even as a slogan, sums of many ideas that I have witnessed.

These ideas, which exist on both side of the isle, which show blind loyalty with complete disregard to the person sharing the road, water supply and tax burden with you.  As long as our two party system is regarded like a Celtics/Lakers rivalry, we’re skrewed.

Russert’s Passing Leaves A Void

I never would have thought that Tim Russert and Scooter Libby were friends – and that is why he was great at his job.  He asked tough questions of everyone.  He did not play favorites and his program, “Meet the Press” set the standard for political journalism.

It was tough to see Tom Brokaw choking up on this Sunday’s show.  Mr. Brokaw will hopefully step back into the stage for this year’s election coverage.  But it is tough to say who will be the next “Bulldog”.  Those shoes are tough to fill.

McCain’s Passionate Speach

If our next president is chosen based on his ability to speak and inspire, McCain doesn’t have a chance. Likely, the next president will be chosen based on the color of his skin or some other asinine measurement. Hopefully not. But I have heard the racist comments roll in and hopefully they will be beaten back like the dribbling doo that it is.

McCain’s victory speech was amazingly boring – and he had weeks to work on it! He could learn a lot from a 3 year old that wants Cheerios for breakfast. Obama knows how to deliver a line. Maybe he will be heard and the media will cease to only show old clips of his surrogates.

Whoever wins, it won’t be the Chimpy McFlightsuit, and we can all be thankful. But we will still have to endure the mess he and his cronies have made.

Are Pearls Good Gifts

I know, I know, HIllary stepped down (finally), and McCain is spooking the village. But the hard part IS over – at least until the next reverend Wright video surfaces.

But right now, I have to get a gift for my wife. I have given her a cool pearl bracelet from this site before and she really liked it. But now that China has been able to mass produce pearls as fast as lightning, does that affect the price of pearls, or their value? And does my wife care?

Thanks for hearing me out. I’ll bitch about politics in the next round.

Should Obama Quit?

According to the principle of mathematics and that creepy concept of “real numbers”, Hillary only needs 153% of the remaining delegates to pull out a victory.

And she is going to take this thing to the highest council in the farthest land to make her case that she is actually the winner.

Can you imagine playing a game of ping-pong with her?  Can you imagine playing any game with her?  Can you actually imagine her at play?  At any rate it would SUCK!  Everything would be a do-over.  The rules would always change.

FYI for you people who think she would be a good president – Hillary would be worse than George W. Bush.  There, I said it.
