Democratic Rep. Rahm Emanuel proposed a bill to withhold money that Cheney’s office now receives for his residence, travel and entertainment. He said the bill was a reaction to the claim that vice president’s office was outside the rules that would apply to other executive offices.
Of course the bill was defeated. And Mr. Emanuel, you’re an idiot. What kind of moron would actually give dignity to Cheney’s claims by pushing through a bill that would damage the office, not the current holder of that office? Apparently Rahm Emanuel and a bunch of other Democrats.
I have to wonder whether Emanuel (and the other Democrats) are the type(s) who try and reason with small children or try to be friends with their 10 year old. Quit playing games and act like adults! In matters of national security and stability, don’t play the game of destroying the constitution. The Republicans are doing that just fine.
Unless there is a deep fear of getting shot in the face, there is really no excuse for our Congress (Democrats AND Republicans) not to do their jobs, protect the constitution and the laws of our country. Stop playing games. You’re elected. You’re leaders. Now stop playing partisan games and start doing the work of the people. And if you’re afraid of getting shot in the face, just say so.

Jon Stuart’s new segment on the Daily Show is appropriately named. Who was Cheney meeting with during his energy task force meetings? Did Enron really help draft that proposal? Sorry. Citizens not allowed. Executive privilege.
To this latest denial, Senator Patrick Leahy responded,
“This is a further shift by the Bush Administration into Nixonian stonewalling and more evidence of their disdain for our system of checks and balances….Increasingly, the President and Vice President feel they are above the law — in America no one is above law.” read more
But last week Cheney claimed he was NOT part of the executive branch and therefore did not have to comply with laws concerning executive orders to submit materials to the Indpendent Security Oversight Office.
This is ridiculous. An undercover CIA operative was exposed. It doesn’t matter why. But she was exposed as she was working on non nuclear prolieration in Iran. Why is no one charged with treason? American citizens were wiretapped illegally. Guantanamo Bay holds prisoners without charge. Why is this allowed? Why does anyone even care about party affiliation at this point? Do we only impeach presidents for the nookie thing?
Anybody who is blind enough to stick to “their” party as if they were cheering for their favorite football team should be held down and tickled until they piss their pants. And pictures of said event should fill the Internets. Quit acting like children! Quit treating our constitution like toilet paper. And that goes for both sides of the isle.

This is numero uno – summer has just started, the drought continues and tomorrow morning I have to wake up early to teach a sub atomic decomposition class.
